Abstract: “A critical step in tackling climate change involves structural, system-level changes facilitating action. Despite their ubiquity, little is known about how internet search algorithms portray climate change, and how these portrayals impact concern and action. In a sample of 49 countries, we found that nationwide climate concern, but not nation-level climate impact, predicted the emotional arousal caused by climate change Google Image Search outputs.”
To achieve universal electricity access and rapid economic development, Sub-Saharan Africa must accelerate its electricity generation. Despite rising incomes, electricity production per capita has declined. Leveraging renewable energy, supported by climate finance and policy reforms, can boost both power generation and GDP.

From the article: In recent years, research integrity issues are in the limelight with the emergence of new and complex threats, such as paper mills, citation cartels, fabricated peer reviews, fake papers, artificial intelligence–generated images, among many others. A worrying feature of these emerging research integrity threats is that they often occur at scale and can affect many journals and articles at the same time. Taken together, this poses a considerable challenge to journal editors and editorial offices, which are key stakeholders in ensuring the integrity of the work they publish.
