Wren, a black and white border collie, wove through barrels, climbed over snow berms and hopped over piles of splintered timber and hunks of blue plastic scattered beneath her paws. With her nose to the ground, she could smell the scent of some old moose bones, scattered in the gravel nearby, and a bucket of food buried somewhere deep in the snow. But after a few minutes of sniffing, she narrowed in on the smell she was looking for, and bounded back across the lot to jump on her handler, Will Metcalf. "Where are they? Point to them. I don't see them," Metcalf said. Wren led him back to a half-buried, junked minivan. She stuck her head into the smashed up windows, and a person in a bright red winter jacket emerged. "What a good dog," Metcalf said.

Crews closed a portion of East 55th Street in Cleveland early Thursday morning due to an overnight fire at a building on Lake Court. 3News' Austin Love reported live from the scene all morning where the flames have since been extinguished. We're told 11 fire companies responded to the incident. While nobody was hurt, the building's roof reportedly collapsed. Lt. Mike Norman of the Cleveland Fire Department told 3News it was a "tricky spot to fight a fire" because of the nearby train tracks. The building is home to a commercial linen company known as The Clean Group. Their site says it's a company founded by former Cleveland Browns player Joe Jurevicius. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

VIDEO: Governor Kathy Hochul announced that there will be a new program designed to strengthen New York State's volunteer firefighter services. The first training stipend of $10 million will offset the costs of training courses that firefighters are required to complete. "Volunteer firefighters put their lives on the line to protect those in their communities, and it is time that we recognize and compensate them for the work that they have done," Governor Hochul said. "These stipends will allow our firefighters to continue serving their communities while also being able to provide for their families." According to the governor's office, "Volunteer fire departments serve approximately nine million New Yorkers, nearly half of the State's population.

Fifteen people were killed in fires in the first two months of 2024 in Connecticut, making it the most deadly start to the year in at least a decade, according to data from state fire officials. "A couple of years, we've had starts like this," said Roger Nelson, a Bloomfield fire marshal and vice president of the Connecticut Fire Marshals Association. "But this seems to be one after another after another." From Somers in the north to East Lyme in the southeast, there were 11 deadly fires in January and February, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The number of deaths is by far the largest in that time period since 2015 and almost five times the nine-year average of 3.2 deaths, according to data obtained by CT Insider. Those who died ranged in age from 5 to 95.

PHOTOS: Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce are giving back. The brothers recently stepped out to visit Brookline Volunteer Fire Company in Havertown, Pennsylvania, after learning of a late man's fight with cancer. Jess Viola tells ET that the NFL stars visited the fire station, at which her husband and father-in-law are both members, in the wake of her brother-in-law, Brendan McDermott's, death. Brendan died on May 21, 2023, almost five years after he was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer. He is survived by his wife, Meghan McDermott, and their "miracle baby," Anna. "Jason and Travis were both so nice, normal, and hilarious," Jess tells ET of the brothers' visit. "You can tell they are the kind of people who never forgot where they came from and are super down to earth."
