MoFo advises SoftBank on record-breaking $40 bln OpenAI investment

U.S. law firm Morrison Foerster has advised SoftBank Group Corp. as lead investor in a landmark financing round of up to $40 billion in artificial intelligence pioneer OpenAI.
The investment in the ChatGPT maker represents the largest investment round in a venture-backed startup in history and the largest single venture investment made by an investor in a startup. The deal also positions OpenAI as one of the most highly valued venture-backed startups globally.
