The Greater Bay Area has been playing the role of “the South Gate” of China ever since the country opened up to the world forty years ago. With the introduction of a new development outline in early 2019, the Greater Bay Area now aims to develop into a new economic centre focused on high technology, communications, biomedical technology and a shared economy.
