Alberta’s battle to win Trans Mountain approval You may be surprised to learn that the reporting for my Tyee story today, based on several internal government documents requested through the freedom of information process, took a full 11 months to complete. Actions by the Alberta government that delayed the release of the information included wrangling over whether The Tyee must pay for processing, time spent consulting with an unnamed third party, a delay attributed to COVID-19 issues, and then an opportunity for the third-party to appeal the decision to disclose documents.
