When Alex Lazard was 11, he and his family had left Oklahoma and landed back in Lafayette. His dad, Ken Lazard, had yet to start what would later become Destiny of Faith Church, but his three boys quickly found themselves helping those in the neighborhood. They had to cut grass and pick up trash. That was a way to enact the Bible verse Isaiah 58:12, which details how some people can rebuild the ruins of a city and those who do will be deemed a restorer of homes. Now 33, Lazard says he carries that verse to heart in his work, which includes his new job as executive director of the Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority. Read the full story here.
