The Danish Speech and Language Pathologist/Therapist Association ALF, in cooperation with Copenhagen University, have pleasure in welcoming Dr. Caroline Bowen, to speak about intervention for children with speech sound disorders (SSD): articulation disorders, phonological disorders and childhood apraxia. Dr Bowen is a well-known Australian Speech-Language Pathologist, and her webpage www.speech-language-therapy.com is goldmine for both student and clinical SLTs. She is devoted to sharing her knowledge and knowhow and is a brilliant lecturer.

Sound Reasoning (September 29 2015) is intended primarily for qualified professionals, but is not too 'difficult' for motivated students. It is about treatment target selection strategies for SSD that are evidence based and/or theoretically strong.

The strategies are looked at in-depth, in relation to the treatment approaches covered on September 24 (http://inss.ku.dk/kalendera/caroline-bowen-kursus/), but participants do not have to attend on September 24 in order to follow the information on September 29.

The day includes:

•  Assessment procedures upon which to base treatment target selection choices

•  Intervention principles for phonetically-based ('articulatory') error-types

•  Intervention principles for phonemically-based ('phonological') error-types

•  Intervention principles for motorically-based (CAS/DVD) error-types

•  Treatment target selection within a range of evidence-based intervention approaches

•  Rationales for and implementation of 8 traditional approaches to therapy target selection

•  Rationales for, and implementation of, 8 newer approaches to therapy target selection

•  Application of non-linear principles in intervention for syllable structure errors

•  Application of complexity principles in treatment target selection

•  Using facilitative articulatory contexts
