Articles have been written describing the technological improvements and its importance, but it seems that the fundamental reasons might still be not widely understood, which is why the author explains through this piece two fundamental questions:

In short, Taproot brings a new type of address that allows bitcoin expenditure to appear similar regardless of the sender making a simple bitcoin transaction, a multi-signature one, or using the Lightning Network. By making transactions simpler and cheaper, it allows the Lightning Network to unleash its full potential while increasing fungibility.

Mastercard Launches Bitcoin Payment Cards In Asia Pacific

Mastercard, the card payment giant, has partnered with Amber Group, Bitkub, and CoinJar to offer bitcoin-linked payment cards across the Asia Pacific region. This will enable users to pay in any place where Mastercard is accepted, and be able to spend bitcoin without the receiver needing to accept it as a payment option.

The integration of bitcoin with our current protocol is now not only inevitable, but there also exists the pressure of not being the last company to implement such changes. The benefits of an interoperable monetary network are undeniable.

BlockFi Files For Spot Bitcoin ETF Through A Joint Venture With Neuberger Berman

Through a partnership with Neuberger Berman, BlockFi filed yesterday with the U.S Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) to offer a spot bitcoin exchange traded fund (bitcoin spot ETF). The BlockFi NB BitcoinETF would trade on NYSE and hold actual bitcoin. This is a differenciation to the current Bitcoin Futures ETF which carry only exposure to the price, making it an IOU.

The introduction of a spot bitcoin ETF would serve institutions who desire to hold exposure to the price, without having to hold their own keys. Oc rouse, this would come at the cost that the bitcoin is actually being controlled by a custodian.

Meet Adrian, a Salvadoran construction worker, who never new his story would echo widely across the Bitcoin world. Adrian's story is one of many happening in El Salvador and throughout the world, where through Bitcoin's monetary properties, hard work and savings, he was empowered financially and emotionally. As he saw his savings appreciate, Adrian was able to afford a dental procedure which he could only have dreamt about, bringing back his smile, to be shared with the community.

The story inspired the creation of "Bitcoin Smiles," an organization raising funds for more such treatments, covering all costs related to critical dental care.
