Share Your Aloha / Buy a Kid a Book:

Support Our Book Drive for Kindergarteners

Friends of the Aloha Shirt Festival have provided 77 copies of the "ALOHA: What it Means to Me Workbook" to kindergarteners in Kailua-Kona. Our goal is to give a copy to every kindergartener on Hawai'i Island. Share your ALOHA—donate $10 to provide one workbook and support our effort.

Students can design and color their own Aloha Shirt on page 14 and enter it into a drawing to win prizes. Proceeds from your purchase support additional educational programs through the nonprofit publisher, Aloha Movement Kaua'i.

The 3rd Annual Aloha Shirt Festival

October 03 - 06, 2024 at Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa

From the inspiration of fashionistas, Uncle George Na‘ope, and Cyril Lani Pahinui, we have crafted one of the biggest spectacles of the year for Kona to celebrate Island heritage.

The Aloha Shirt Festival focuses on Hawai’i’s wearable arts and the local garment industry offering: a Pop-Up MarketPlace, book signings, a lei competition, Sunday afternoon tea, speakers and business resource presentations, top designers and fashion speakers, vintage Aloha Wear exhibits, sales, and appraisals, contemporary designers, and repurposed clothing collections, all showcased in exciting fashion runway shows, sponsored cocktails and Manta watching.

Please save the dates, dawn your favorite, oldest or most colorful and plan to join us for this amazing event filled with activities and celebrities galore. And the featured designers and music are top notch too! We have already begun to book the 2024 line up of Super Stars!

About the Artwork

This painting was presented to Cyril at the Kani Ka Pila Grille and now hangs in the entry of our home in Kona. The painting recognizes Cyril Pahinui, now famous for his mastery of Hawaiian slack key guitar and his gentle compelling vocals with the spirit (inspiration) of his father, the great Gabby Pahinui, beneath the ironwood trees on a Waimānalo beach overlooking Rabbit Island. Through this heartfelt artwork and our Cyril Pahinui signature t-shirt, the legend lives on. Kī Hō‘alu a me nā lā‘au paina – slack key and ironwood trees…no ka poli mai nō ‘o Waimānalo.
