| Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Wednesday, July 12, 2023. The dearth of Saints news finally ended Tuesday. But it wasn't the kind of news Saints fans wanted to hear. Star running back Alvin Kamara finally resolved 17-month-old criminal charges against him when he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of breach of peace, stemming from a Feb. 6, 2022 in incident at a Las Vegas nightclub. With the legal issue behind him, Kamara now must wait on possible discipline from the NFL for a potential violation of the league's personal conduct policy. What does the court settlement mean for the Saints' star running back in regards to his status for the 2023 season? The answer is unclear, but historical precedent indicates that Kamara could be facing a lengthy suspension from the NFL. Only time will tell. That's it for today.
