Amazon's one-day shipping plan worries union

Amazon's announcement that it is offering one-day shipping to its Amazon Prime clients has at least one union worried that working conditions at company warehouses could deteriorate. Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union President Stuart Appelbaum says two-day shipping already stretches workers to fill orders at top speed, at about 200 to 300 orders per hour.

Pa. district adds teacher apprenticeships
Pennsylvania is preparing to roll out an Apprenticeship to Mastery Program for Public School Teachers. The two-year apprenticeship for K-12 teachers in the Norristown Area School District -- said to be the first program of its kind in the US -- is intended to help schools recruit and train classroom teachers.
