The results are in...On Jan. 20, 2026, the Food Traceability Final Rule officially begins for grocers. Data will need to be kept on certain food items. It is expected to be a heavy lift. We asked grocers where they were in regards to planning, and 37% answered “What’s that?” (meaning they are unfamiliar with the Food Traceability Final Rule) while just 25% said they are on schedule.
