Online retail giant Amazon is stopping Australian consumers from buying goods from its global sites due to the imposition of a new goods and services tax on overseas ecommerce sites from 1 July.

Australia's triple-zero service was hit by a malicious attack last weekend, with up to 600 calls at a time made through a customer of telco Vocus, with the attacker flooding the number during three short periods between 6.09am and 7.55am.

Accounting software company MYOB Group has abandoned plans to acquire competitor Reckon, citing concerns over uncertainty in its business from further potential delays in the regulatory process to approve the proposed deal.
