American, Qantas resubmit JV application to DOT

American Airlines and Australian flag carrier Qantas are hoping that a revised application submitted to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) Feb. 26 to form an antitrust-immunized joint venture (JV) will be approved.

Tax reform boosts Air Lease Corp. to $756 million 2017 net profit

Air Lease Corp. (ALC) received a $354 million benefit from the December 2017 US tax reform legislation, pushing the Los Angeles-based commercial aircraft lessor to a $756.2 million net profit for 2017, more than doubling ALC’s $375 million net income in 2016.
