Americas Cardroom is gearing up for nearly two months of non-stop progressive knockout poker tournaments with MOMOMO PKO.

The online tournament series features more than 500 PKO events with a combined $50 million guarantee, and runs from Sept. 9 until Nov. 1.

There will be a $1 million guaranteed PKO tournament every Sunday of the series, for a total of six. The action all culminates with the $5 million guaranteed Venom PKO main event, which features multiple starting flights.

What Are Progressive Knockout Tournaments?

PKO tournaments take traditional bounty tournaments and press the action. For example, in a normal $10 knockout tournament, $5 would go to the prize pool and $5 would go to the bounty. Knocking out a player would result in $5 added to any prize you cash for.

In a $10 PKO tournament, $5 would go to the prize pool, and $5 goes to the bounty. However, when you knock someone out of the tournament, instead of getting the full $5, you get half that amount, or $2.50. The other $2.50 now gets added to your own bounty, making it now worth $7.50.

Should someone take you out, the process repeats itself. They’ll pocket $3.75 (half the current bounty), and the other $3.75 gets added to their head.

By the end of a tournament, a single player’s bounty could even be worth more than the remaining prize pool, creating a very exciting dynamic at the final table. Imagine what could be up for grabs in the $5 million Venom PKO!
