After a successful first edition in the former Citroën garage (2015) and a fantastic second edition in the middle of Museumplein (2016), this year Amsterdam Art Fair will open its doors at Huidekoperstraat, next to De Nederlandsche Bank. From May 17, the fifty best Dutch galleries will move into this temporary location for five days. It’s renamed Kunsthal Koper for the occasion, and shows the latest work of some of the best artists. | | |

The artist examined over a 1000 delicate and valuable books from their archive and photographed a selection of titles, re-interpreting them as Neo-Gothic monuments that bear witness to the politics and culture of the time.
Philippe Braquenier, in Palimpsest, addresses contemporary infrastructures for information safe-keeping and the relationship between natural environments with technological ones, aesthetically inquiring how to safeguard the archives of human knowledge.
Putting the work of these artists together results in an intriguing overview of one of the most pressing issues of our time: data and the storage of data, as well as the role photography plays in archiving and visualising our historical knowledge and information. | | |

| | | | | | | | | | | | | |  | | | | Stephan Vanfleteren, Sean, 2016. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |  | | | | Bastiaan Woudt, Unveil, 2016. | | | | | | Stephan Vanfleteren (1969) studied photography at Sint-Lukas in Brussels. He started working as a freelance photographer for De Morgen newspaper. Four years after his graduation Vanfleteren won the first of his five World Press Photo Awards. Many national and international prices followed. His works are about everyday life in Belgium, among other things. He is specialized in black and white portraits and comprehensive national and international assignments.
Bastiaan Woudt (1987) is a rising star in the world of photography. He was named New Dutch Photography Talent in 2014 and won the Fentener van Vlissingen Art Foundation Award in 2016. Woudt studied history of photography and has a preference for classical subject matter such as portraits. He adds a contemporary flavour to classical subjects by his highly advanced use of the camera and experiments with production techniques. | | |
