Falling for Audiobooks
By Stephanie Klose
August 11, 2017

Stephanie KloseOctober brings a wealth of extraordinary audiobooks. We'll hear memoirs from astronaut Scott Kelly, Amy Tan, and Gold Star father Khizr Khan, as well as fiction such as short stories from Tom Hanks and a reimagined Nutcracker from Gregory Maguire. Journalistic nonfiction offerings are especially strong and include Matt Taibbi's reporting on the death of Eric Garner, Alexis Okeowo's A Moonless, Starless Sky: Ordinary Women and Men Fighting Extremism in Africa, and Masha Gessen on the rise of totalitarianism in Russia. Teen (and many adult!) listeners will delight in new works from Philip Pullman, John Green, and Libba Bray, as well as an array of debuts in a wide range of genres.
