Businesses across Lancashire are waiting anxiously to find out which tier the county will be placed in once national lockdown comes to an end on December 2.
View email online | | | | | Nov 24, 2020 | | | | | | Good evening Thursday is the day we will find out what tier Lancashire will be in and it’s an agonising wait until then for many, particularly local businesses. As always, the latest rules will require a great deal of interpreting and we will do our best to do that for you so keep an eye on the website tomorrow and we will break it down. Many are putting their money on Lancashire remaining in Tier 3, while areas including Lancaster and Wyre, consider themselves less of a risk. But one thing we have learned about coronavirus is it’s a fast-moving picture and speculation is unhelpful - the decision around tiers and restrictions will be made on Thursday based on Thursday’s most up-to-date data. Meanwhile plans to allow families to reunite over Christmas were being thrashed out by the Government and leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, during a high-level Cobra meeting today to agree on a four-nation approach to allowing a degree of relaxation over the festive period. But it's not an easy balance to both save lives and let people have lives so it will be interesting to see what they come up with. As always the latest breaking news is online and don't forget for an advertising-light experience and access to our comprehensive puzzles services and digital edition of the newspaper please subscribe. Thanks as always for your ear - and your support. Enjoy what is left of Tuesday! Kind regards, Nicola Here are some of today's top stories ... | |
