An animated understanding of COVID-19
This pandemic has made many people wonder exactly how COVID-19 came about and what’s different about this particular coronavirus? Turns out the history of the virus is a complicated but well-documented one. Perhaps if we learn from the past we can change the future.

The sentences computers can’t understand, but humans can
AI is starting to get really smart. We have Siri and Alexa, which are able to understand what we say and easily complete tasks for us, but they aren’t perfect. There are still words and sentences AI can’t understand. The Winograd Schema Challenge is a test devised by scientists to show the difference between the way a computer thinks and the way a human does.
What the heck is an ‘anti-oloid?’
In mechanical engineering, scientists and developers are constantly looking for new ways to help machines bear their loads. Rolling bearings are one of the most popular and, due to an increase in unusual tech designs, some of the shapes engineers are creating are anything but ordinary. See how this one impossible shape is capable of rolling as smooth as a ball.

Japan invents ventilated hats to beat the heat
As one of the most humid countries on earth, Japan knows a thing or two about how daunting it can be to endure a heatwave. Technology helps boy adjust to diabetes diagnosis
Last year, 9-year-old Marcus Schmidt’s life changed when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Managing his condition is tough, mom Alysha says, but is made much easier thanks to a wearable glucose monitoring system. Marcus’ family and teachers can keep an eye on his blood sugar no matter where he is, no needles or blood tests required. Kim talks with the Schmidts about Marcus’ diagnosis, how their lives have changed and how technology helps relieve some of the stress of their new normal.

The work from home staple every house needs
With so many of us working from home or helping our kids with homework, I want to make sure you have the right printer that’s up for the task. The Epson EcoTank makes it easy.
This printer has super-sized, easy-to-fill ink tanks and comes with a RIDICULOUS amount of ink — enough to print thousands of pages. No more rushing to the store and waiting for your online order to arrive to replace an ink cartridge in between print jobs. The quality is excellent, too.
