Get ready for an action-packed April in London

With two bank holidays approaching, you might find yourself with a bit more free time than usual to play with over the coming weeks. But don't start dreaming of extra duvet days, because there are so many awesome things occurring in London in April and beyond to keep you occupied instead.

There's Easter, obviously, which means egg hunts and odd city traditions like the Widow's Bun Ceremony, plus our pick of family-friendly activities for the school holidays. It's not all chocolate and bunny rabbits, though; this month also sees over a dozen hotly-anticipated exhibitions open — from superheroes at The Foundling Museum to miniature art at Old Brompton Road. On top of our art critic's picks, there's this little gem for cartophiles, featuring the oldest surviving map of London.

Add food festivals, art fairs, and a brand new series of museum lates into the mix and your diary will start to look rather lively indeed. Click below for the full events round-up
