Plus, is switching off at the power point really worth the effort?
| I’ve been in the media for 30 years and have spent a lot of that time at Parliament House as a state political reporter. Watching the political process closely and holding governments and the decisions they make to account, is a big part of the job. And maybe that’s why I’ve always regarded it a privilege that we have the right to vote. It’s the essence of democracy and a right we should value and respect. And that brings me to the referendum you will vote in later this year. You are being asked to decide if there should be an Indigenous Voice to Parliament enshrined in the constitution. It’s important to listen to a range of informed views and then make your choice. We aim to bring those views to you in a special Mornings Spotlight Forum on Wednesday April 26 from 10am to 11am. I’d love you to join me at ABC studios and be part of this important discussion. Nadia Mitsopoulos Mornings presenter on ABC Radio Perth | | |
