GLOBAL: Virgin Hotels Collection, the global luxury hospitality brand by Sir Richard Branson, has announced the appointment of Tim Wyman as vice president of development. This announcement takes place on the heels of the recent formation of Virgin Hotels Collection, which brought together Virgin Hotels, Virgin Limited Edition, and Virgin Residences into one parent company to accelerate the global footprint for Virgin Group’s hospitality business. Wyman most recently served as vice president of investments at NewcrestImage.
ASBURY PARK, N.J.: Sea.Hear.Now has announced its 2023 lineup. This year, festivalgoers can expect live performances from Foo Fighters, The Killers, Greta Van Fleet, Weezer, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Mt. Joy, Sheryl Crow, The Beach Boys, and more. The festival will return to North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park Sept. 16-17 with over 25 artists, three stages, a surf contest, and celebration of the arts.
BOSTON: The Ritz-Carlton, Boston has announced that Jim Lyons has been promoted to executive chef. In this role, Lyons will oversee all of the hotel’s food and beverage programming, including menu creation and execution for meetings and events, fundraising galas, and weddings. Lyons previously served the property as executive sous chef starting in 2021, when the hotel resumed operations following closure from the pandemic.
LAS VEGAS: Hit television stars, judges, and celebrity chef icons Michael and Bryan Voltaggio will unveil Retro by Voltaggio at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino this spring. The one-year culinary residency will offer "a classic American family-style dining concept, capturing the feelings, tastes, sounds, and pop culture moments of the '80s and '90s, along with unique nostalgic elements that will blend to create a high-energy dining destination." Retro will open in chef Charlie Palmer’s Aureole restaurant space, which will close in the coming months as Palmer refocuses his time on new projects.
ST. LOUIS: Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis has announced the completion of a fresh, contemporary redesign to all of its 200 guest rooms and suites. This year-long renovation was led by St. Louis-based R|5 Design Agency with the intent of creating the ultimate in-room relaxation environment while infusing the spirit of St. Louis. The design concept provides a strong sense of place, as it was inspired by the magnificent views of the Mississippi River, Eads Bridge, and (of course) the iconic Gateway Arch.
