A forgotten Apple patent reveals the original idea for the Vision Pro

An Apple patent from 2008 has resurfaced, and it looks and sounds a whole lot like the Vision Pro

It seems like Apple has been working on the Vision Pro for a long time, according to the details of a 2008 patent that’s just resurfaced. Spotted by Macworld, Apple's patent includes a diagram showing something very similar to the Vision Pro.

The patent describes the device as a wearable display with intelligent sensors that can "simulate the experience of being in a virtual environment,” and even mentions that the sensors would be able to track head and eye movements. It took another 15 years for Apple to unveil the Vision Pro, during which time the technology for such a headset will have greatly advanced ...

Clicks changed my mind about using a keyboard with my iPhone 16

Major improvements have been made over the original version

Clicks has revamped the original Clicks Keyboard specifically for the iPhone 16 series, and after using it, Digital Trends’ mobile specialist Andy Boxall has described it as a “considerable improvement,” finding it so impressive that it’s changed his thinking about the merits of using a physical keyboard with a touchscreen iPhone.

Hardware changes have brought much-improved typing accuracy and comfort, according to Andy, thanks mainly to flatter, more naturally spaced, less sticky, and more “pressable” (at an angle) keys, though one notable drawback is that the keyboard adds considerable length to  your phone ...

Fiio DM13 review: Get ready to fall in love with CDs all over again

'This modern take on the portable CD player will have you dusting off your CD binders for a trip down memory lane'

And besides playing CDs, Fiio’s $149 machine also reads WAV, WMA, and MP3 files, as well as AAC and FLAC files, from compact discs. It offers a plethora of connectivity options, too, and its portability means you can “get a few laughs from your friends by showing up and dropping your CD binders and the DM13 on the table” ...

Moana 2 set for a massive Thanksgiving weekend

The newcomer is certain to sweep aside Wicked and Gladiator II

Moana 2 is on course for a huge Thanksgiving at the domestic box office, according to Boxoffice Pro. Disney’s follow-up to its 2016 Polynesian mythology-themed hit is forecast to earn between $170 million and $200 million in North America across the five-day period from November 27 to December 1.

“With K-12 schools currently closing or closed, that younger crowd will be a massive box office injection similar to what we saw over the summer with Inside Out; then it’s a clear runway ... until Paramount’s Sonic 3 and Disney’s Mufasa duke it out for the kiddie dollar on December 20,” Boxoffice Pro said, adding that Wicked and Gladiator II look set to place second and third, respectively ...
