On March 12 we made our new provider portal available to all providers and asked you to sign up. This was one day later than we expected and some of you had a difficult experience trying to sign up and I want to apologise for that and any inconvenience this caused. We are working quickly to resolve these issues and will be in touch very soon to let you know when they're fixed. I know how important it is for registered managers and nominated individuals to be able to delegate access to others in your organisation, this will soon be available. For now, I want to reassure you that if you haven't been able to sign up to the new portal you can continue to submit notifications to us via email. If you've already contacted our contact centre, we'll be working as hard as possible to respond to your query. Otherwise please wait to sign up to the new portal until we've notified you that these issues are fixed. It's important that registered managers in the same provider don't use a shared email address to create their provider portal account. Previously, we allowed people to use shared email addresses for portaluser accounts. To increase security for all users and to maintain confidentiality, we can no longer allow this. Each user must use a unique email address on our new provider portal. New provider portal accounts will synchronise with our registration data. Because of this, emailssuch asinfo@carehome.com, utilised by multiple registered managers at a provider will now be restricted to one user on the portal. This adjustment ensures that each user has a unique login credential, enhancing security and accountability within the CQC's systems. Registered managers currently sharing an email address should change to a unique email address and notify us as soon as possible. To update us you will need to submit aChanges to registered details: change contact details notification form You'll be able to submit the following notifications through thenew provider portal: SN16:Death of a person using the service SN17:Death of a detained mental health patient SN18:Allegations of abuse SN18:Outcome of an application to deprive a person of their liberty (DoLS) SN18:Events that stop a service running safely or properly SN18:Police involvement in an incident SN18:Serious injury to a person using a service You'll also be able to undertakeregistration activitywithin the new provider portal including: Cancelling your registration New provider registration applications The portal gives most providers the best experience submitting a notification. But you will be able to continue to submit via email if that is your preferred method. |
