An update on recovery in the criminal courts: online event, 23 September
The last six months have brought about widespread, fast-paced and complex change to our courts and tribunals system, at a scale weve never seen before.
Our recently published 'COVID-19: Update on the HMCTS response for criminal courts in England & Wales' outlines the steps that HMCTS is taking towards recovering in the criminal jurisdiction and highlights the ongoing and upcoming work that is taking place in collaboration with our justice partners to progress this further.
Join us for this online event on MS Teams on Wednesday 23 September 2020 at 5pm, which will take a more detailed look at a lot of these activities, providing attendees with the opportunity to hear from the HMCTS leaders responsible for a lot of this work and offering the chance to ask the questions about criminal courts that matter most.
The panel will include:
Helen Measures HMCTS Deputy Director, Crime Programme (Chair) Jason Latham HMCTS Deputy Director, Head of Business Architecture Noreen Razvi Senior Project Manager, HMCTS.The panel will set out progress both to date and to come on our four pillars of recovery:
Maximising the use of HMCTS existing estate Providing additional capacity through Nightingale courts Using technology where appropriate Considering adopting different operating hours as part of maximising HMCTS own estate. This event is aimed at all legal professionals and professional court users working in the criminal jurisdiction. It will last between 40-60 minutes.
