Children's Day at the Brooklyn Book Festival was such a DELIGHT ! As a publisher, it's certainly rewarding to have bestsellers that get rave reviews and win awards, but the real treat is to watch kids discover and fall in love with our books in real time. Enjoy our visual recap of the day! "I met such wonderful new friends, and saw so many old friends, during Children's Day at the Brooklyn Book Festival. One of my new friends even matched my book cover and was kind enough to pose for a picture with me." —Nadja Spiegelman Kevin McCloskey was the star of the afternoon, with a stuffed pigeon affixed to his hat and a few smears of toothpaste on the back of it for realism. Everyone loved the pigeon-themed attire—a nod to The Real Poop on Pigeons! , from his Giggle and Learn Series. James Otis Smith showed up in cowboy regalia to sign the bestseller and fan favorite Black Heroes of the Wild West (SO sorry we sold out, we will be sure to bring even more next year!) Children and parents alike were eager to flip through TOON's award-winning titles—sure beats buying online! This little girl got caught up in the magic of Wildflowers by Liniers. Taking a peek at her grownup's mask, she's probably not the only one! A perfect trifecta to have authors James Otis Smith, Kevin McCloskey, and Nadja Spiegelman all under one TOON into Reading tent. After she participated on the "Adventure" panel at Center Stage, Spiegelman signed her newest title, Blancaflor, the Hero with Secret Powers . She loved meeting and chatting with all of the eager young readers. Readers were walking, skipping, and scootering... Hats off to a great day! SHOP LEVELED SETS & SAVE |
