He has refused to apologise for claiming “Islamists” had “got control” of Sadiq Khan and London. First Minister Humza Yousaf has entered the row today calling on Rishi Sunak to “lead from the front” and tackle Islamophobia within the Conservative Party. He has demanded the PM instigate an independent, external review of the issue. We have heard from Mr Sunak today as he broke his silence on the matter to denounce Mr Anderson’s comments as “wrong”. Pressure will continue to mount on him to go much further. Meanwhile, my favourite story of the day has to be the 'world's smallest lighthouse'.
