Aneesah Morrow makes the amazing seem routine. Just consider that Monday night against Vanderbilt, the LSU women's basketball forward scored 23 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, her 91st double-double in 121 career starts at LSU and DePaul. Her game against Vandy wasn't just another double-double night, though. On this night, Morrow made history, becoming just the eighth NCAA Division I women's player to score over 2,500 points and record more than 1,500 rebounds as she helped lead unbeaten and No. 5-ranked LSU to an 83-77 victory over Vanderbilt at the PMAC. The Tigers pushed their record to 19-0 and 4-0 in the SEC going in to a bye this week before a game Sunday at Florida. Then comes the trip Jan. 23 to South Carolina, which should pit a pair of top-five SEC teams in what is becoming an annual major fixture on the conference calendar. We also have a photo gallery from the game for you. Meanwhile, our TJ Brown looks ahead to the LSU men's attempt at getting that first SEC victory when the Tigers play host to Arkansas at 8 p.m. Tuesday night in the PMAC. The transfer portal is still open and LSU is still active in it. Monday the Tigers pulled in a crucial safety prospect, Tamarcus Cooley from N.C. State, a big position of need for LSU this offseason. Finally, we had LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson in our studio recently for a podcast chat with me, our baseball beat writer Koki Riley and host Zach Ewing. Koki has three takeaways from what Jay had to say. Pro tip: The baseball podcast video is embedded in this story. Just point and click. That's a well-rounded buffet of LSU sports items for you to digest. But don't worry, we'll be back tomorrow with more of the most comprehensive LSU sports coverage around. Thanks and we'll catch you next time. Scott Rabalais |
