Dieser NATIONAL COMPLIMENT DAY wurde 1998 von den beiden Rednerinnen und Buchautorinnen Kathy Chamberlin und Debby Hoffmann initiiert. Komplimente sorgen für gute Stimmung und ein angenehmes Arbeitsklima. Der amerikanische Autor und Zauberer Robert Orben fasste das so in Worte: "A compliment is verbal sunshine." Ihren Kollegen ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zu zaubern kann so einfach sein. Ihre Kollegin hat eine schicke neue Frisur oder trägt ein neues Kleid, das Ihnen gefällt? Machen Sie ihr ein Kompliment. Vermeiden Sie aber geheuchelte Komplimente − diese bewirken genau das Gegenteil. Und Sie können sicher sein, dass Ihr Gegenüber durchaus merkt, wenn das Kompliment nicht von Herzen kommt.
