Ann is based in Moncton, New Brunswick. She was elected to the prestigious Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC) in 2001 and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) in 2007. She paints in oils and watercolor.
Confident use of color and emotional intensity in her images of black women have garnered several national awards and wonderful recognition in print, including features in art publications in America and France, and on book covers. Her portrait-like paintings of sheep, full of warmth, personality and texture have also earned national awards.
The majority of her watercolors are executed as traditional transparent watercolor on paper, but are finished in such a way that they do not need glazing, adding an exciting and immediate tactile element to the paintings.
Ann's work has been shown across Canada and internationally in Italy and in Mexico City, and is held in collections in the U.S. and Canada including the Canadiana Fund State Art Collection (Rideau Hall); the New Brunswick Art Bank; the Department of Foreign Affairs, Government of Canada; the Atlantic Lottery Corporation; the City of Moncton, and Groupe Savoie Inc.
She is represented by Gallery 78 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
