‘West Side Story’ Banned in Middle East Countries Over Trans Character

West Side Story

In 2021 it's still rare to see trans and non-binary characters onscreen, let alone in family-friendly, big studio films.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor Wrote a Blistering Dissent to Court’s “Perverse” Decision Not To Block Texas’ Abortion Ban

Protesters hold up signs as they march down Congress Ave at a pro-abortion protest

Justice Sonia Sotomayor also wrote a dissenting opinion and once again, just as she did back in September, she truly annihilated the conservative majority with her opinion.

Citing an interesting in-comic story exploring Wolverine and Storm's relationship, Halle Berry told Vanity Fair that she would love to return as Storm "if we could find a version that would make sense or a storyline that would make sense."

4 Books About Real Messy, Wealthy Families That Make TV’s Wealthy Look Tame in a Scary Way

Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy in Succession

Watching their lives play out on the screen can act as a reminder that money doesn't fix everything (even though it does make it much more manageable.) Also, there are families either equally if not more messier than our own.

Recap: The Wheel of Time: Episode 5, “Blood Calls Blood”

Still from Amazon's Wheel of Time episode 5 Blood Calls Blood.

This episode is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. It’s bookended by two funerals (or, should I say, it has a circular ending), and the middle bits feature nonviolent resistance, suicide pacts, torture, stabbings, and political maneuvering. Whoof.

Recap: The Wheel of Time: Episode 4, “The Dragon Reborn”

An archer drawing a bow in Amazon's Wheel of Time.

It’s hard to describe how well this episode works as an adaptation, and how much the show is benefiting from Robert Jordan’s completed work. As someone who started reading The Wheel of Time when I was seventeen, I found the amount of foreshadowing in this episode utterly delightful.

Conservatives Seek to Protect Fossil Fuel Industry from “Woke Capitalism”

This push by ALEC is so messy even before its foul intentions to slow the already-almost-too-late climate action, but even in its an idea. Forcing banks and private companies to work with fossil fuel giants as they diversify their portfolio and move away from fossil fuels is ludicrous.
