The resulting crash killed a passenger in that car, and Beth was never the same. In this talk, Beth describes the loneliness of an accidental tragedy, how it radically shaped her life, and the power of connecting with others who have had similar experiences through her podcasts.
Join Beth as she shares these takeaways:  We should not fear uncomfortable discussions, how we can use tragedies to infuse our lives with purpose and meaning, and naming problems and sharing the details of those problems is the path to healing and connection.

"Innovation in Government"
December 13, 2018
Government is best designed to serve its people - ALL of them. We can't continue to utilize the same methods and approaches to solve the challenges that people face. With government budgets constantly coming up short, we have to find new and meaningful ways to engage. Are we asking the right questions? Are we testing our assumptions? Are we spending time prototyping before we scale. These are the things our government should be asking. Come hear Tamaya, who won a seat on Cincinnati City Council on her first campaign, share her thoughts on:
  • Policy is not one size fits all: how to write policy that considers the impact on every neighborhood, every time.
  • Ways that you, as an individual, can work with your government and the ways government can work with and for you.
  • Different tactics and strategies to get more involved in local government and why we all need to get more involved to create a government that looks like us.
