Annual chili cook-off to heat up Five Points on Oct. 26

The Five Points neighborhood will play host to the 32nd annual Chili Cook-off on Oct. 26. Participating teams are required to make at least 15 gallons of chili. On Oct. 31, children can trick-or-treat at participating neighborhood businesses from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

REI Automation expanding Richland County operations

This is the fourth expansion of REI Automation’s assembly facility on Veterans Road in Columbia. The $3 million investment is expected to create 35 jobs.

Library to hold downtown Halloween stroll

Richland County Library will hold the Not-So-Spooky Halloween Stroll on Oct. 31. Children will trick-or-treat at the library and nearly two dozen businesses in Columbia’s central business district.
