Another Lafayette-area restaurant will close its doors for good this week

Good morning, Acadiana business news readers. It's business news time. 

The restaurant industry's troubles from 2022 seem to have spilled over into 2023. Now Smitty's Wings, the Lafayette restaurant that moved to its spot on North Ambassador Caffery Parkway just three years ago, announced it will close up shop for good this week.

"Closing indefintely" is how the announcement described it.

It's safe to say the recent closures are due to a variety of reasons, but it wouldn't be incorrect to cite the current labor force conditions as a factor. That has been a nagging issue for the restaurant industry for years but has been magnified since the pandemic.
