Minnesota reported nearly 4,000 new COVID-19 cases today, setting a new record for a third straight day.

The daily case count has been rising very rapidly in the last week, nearly doubling since last Thursday. Beyond the daily numbers, however, are the weeks of illness and potential contagion each case represents. The number of active cases has tripled in the last month.

Twenty-five new deaths were reported Thursday. As of now the rolling seven-day average of new deaths has risen above 20. That’s the highest it's been since the second week of June.
