Bill aimed at COVID vaccine mandates clears state House

Anti-vaccine mandate bill: The state House this week agreed to prevent businesses that don't mandate COVID-19 vaccines from getting sued if their employees get sick, Meghan Friedmann reports. The proposal is one of several bills targeting vaccines lawmakers will consider this session. 


$520 million?: One analyst says a plan to give Louisiana families public money for private school could cost taxpayers $520 million a year. State lawmakers advanced a bill to create that plan this week, Patrick Wall reports. 


No more LEAP appeals: A state House panel this week advanced a bill to bar policymakers from reinstating an appeals process that let high school seniors graduate even after they failed state exams, Elyse Carmosino reports. The appeals caused a dustup among state officials last year.
