Good afternoon,

Banking group ANZ's chief executive, Shayne Elliott, says federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ approval of its $4.9bn purchase of the Suncorp Bank is a “significant milestone”, however it comes with a number of conditions.

Pubs baron Bruce Mathieson's son, also named Bruce, looks like he is in line for a board role with Star Entertainment after quitting his position with Endeavour. Bruce Snr has been given the green light to up his stake in the casino group by another 19.9 per cent.

Staff at trouble-plagued Nine Entertainment have passed a motion of no confidence in boss Mike Sneesby and its board after he announced hundreds of job losses across its publishing, digital and broadcasting divisions.
