The highest flying of the "beginner rockets," the Blue Streak is an easy to build kit that's great for kids and new modelers alike. In this video, you'll see how to attach the mylar streamer to your rocket using plastic packaging tape. You'll also see how to use carpenter's wood filler to seal the surface of the balsa wood fins. The filler is water soluble, so it dries quickly without any fumes. The Blue Streak shown in the video is available at Apogee Components. | View this week's Rocketry Workshop Video (Duration: 6:13) Previous videos are found on our archive page. |

Check out the latest products to hit Apogee's shelves! | The Mini-Condor is a boost glider that uses 1/2A or A-sized rocket engines. It zooms upward by rocket power and then glides gently back to the ground after dropping off the motor and its streamer pod. The glider trims easily, so you'll get fantastic flight durations and earn yourself a step on the winner's podium for the longest flight! Easy-to-assemble parts makes it perfect for beginners, and fantastic performance makes it a must-have for seasoned competitors. The NAR's competition rules have changed, and this kit will give you the winning edge! |
| Here is a simple laser-cut cardboard fin alignment jig that is perfect for the competition modeler. It fits the common starter type rockets that are 18mm in diameter (BT-20 size tubes), which have three 1/16-inch (1.6mm) thick fins. It works great on kits like the Blue Streak. Allows all the fins to be added at the same time in order to speed assembly. |
| At the request from several customers, we've added to our inventory the Dino Chutes Protective Pouches for the PerfectFlite altimeters. This gives you a bit more padding and a shield against dust and hot ejection charges. We now have them for these altimeters: ARPA, Pnut, and the FireFly. |
| The Starter Set contains one StratoLauncher™ IV soda bottle water rocket launcher, which will enable you to propel a 2-liter plastic (PET) soda pop bottle over 350 feet into the sky using only water and compressed air from a bicycle pump or an air compressor. Completely redesigned in order to prevent air leakage. Heavy duty and great for classrooms! |
| The HyperLoc is promoted as a "Park Flyer." The designers thought that since it is heavy and robust, it could withstand some faster-than-normal descent speeds and therefore could be used in smaller fields. This is true, but where this kit is a lot of fun is stuffing higher thrust motors into the backend. This rocket is designed for motors that have a brutal kick. It's built for speed! |
| Have you built a lot of small kits and want something bigger, something that has some features found in high-power rockets? Then the LOC Graduator would be something you might be interested in. The Graduator is a classic rocket kit that builds just like smaller rockets, but everything in it is designed for bigger motors. Flies great on F and G size motors. |
| The LOC Black Brant X is a pseudo-scale model loosely based on the Candian Sounding Rocket. It's a great all-around flyer that can use a variety of different rocket engines. It's a proven performer that will get the respect of everyone that sees it. This model is going to be your rock-solid favorite that can be flown at any time. |
| The Spek is a two-stage rocket designed specifically for the National Association of Rocketry’s contest for the “Altimeter Altitude” event. In the single-stage configuration, it can use a 13mm diameter 1/4A, 1/2A, or A-size rocket motor. When adding the booster stage, you can use it in the “B-altitude” event, because two A-size engines added together is equivalent to the power of a “B” rocket motor. If you're a rocket competitor, this little bug will get you to the winner's podium. |
| This is the success package of the most commonly used parts for the 2017-2018 TARC Competition. This pack of parts is a great way to get your designs "off the ground". It contains the most commonly requested components to build rockets for the TARC competition. There are enough material supplies in the package to assemble two rockets. Now you can test different configurations to create your winning rocket! |
| Designed Dino Chutes to work with the Jolly Logic Chute Release device (not included). This special guide chute is intended to be deployed during the time your rocket is descending from apogee. It basically helps your rocket descend a little slower and also keeps it from drifting too far. Think of it as a funny looking parachute because it has the DNA of a streamer. |

| “Thanks for getting my orders out quickly. Your customer service has helped out a few times; Tim even replied to a question early one morning, probably over breakfast. And all of the videos that I have been able to watch are very useful. All of you at Apogee are great. Keep up the excellent work.” — Paul Levesque | |

I need help with generating the bi-weekly newsletter articles, since it takes a lot of effort to put them together. And I'm willing to pay big bucks for your help. So ask yourself, are you looking to earn some extra money? I'm now actively seeking writers for articles to appear in this newsletter. And I want unique and cutting-edge articles because that is what you want to read, right? I realize this, so to get articles from outside writers that have the same level of quality, I'm going to have to pay a lot of cash to make it worth it for them. So I've come up with a compensation package where I'll pay up to $350 for good how-to articles. Are you a writer, and does that interest you? That is a lot of cash! Far more than you'll get by writing for other magazines. And with over 23,000 worldwide subscribers, if you write for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter, you'll gain a lot of notoriety. Writing for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter is a great way to show off your rocketry projects and your technical expertise, at the same time as helping out other rocketeers. Imagine how great you'll feel knowing that you made a difference to the hobby. If you're interested in writing, see the guidelines on our site. | |
