Apogee Rocketry Workshop #412

How to Determine the Amount of Ejection Charge for Your Model Rockets

Advanced Construction Video

You can forget about manually finding the volume of the parachute compartment that you are trying to pressurize. Also ditch the math. There is an easier way to find the amount of black powder you need for an ejection charge in a dual deployment rocket. This video shows how to use RockSim v11 to quickly find how much BP you'll need to successfully deploy the chute. Even with shear pins in the rocket, this can now be accomplished in seconds with no math, and no measuring.

Customer Testimonials:Customer Comments

“I've been retired for a few years now and have finally had the time to get back into model rocketry. Wow, have things changed. I first found Tim at Apogee through Youtube instructional videos - I'm a little rusty as to building. I watched several videos that day and was very impressed with the quality and clarity of his instruction. The majority of my time in uniform I spent teaching others, and I understand a good instructor as compared to 'this guy will do'. I visited the Apogee website, created an account and started shopping. My first order I received several contact emails as to the status, and also several free things (that add up rapidly). I got the order and was very impressed with the care that went into packing it, the notes inside, even a couple of DVDs with more videos. I have lost track of how many orders I have now made from Apogee. I should receive my X-15 kit today, and the Nightfighter kit tomorrow. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of this Company. The customer service is unbeatable, as is the quality of the items for sale and the attention to detail that went into the design of each item. Thank you Apogee Staff, and thank you Tim.”

I'm now actively seeking writers for articles to appear in this newsletter. And I want unique and cutting-edge articles because that is what you want to read, right? I realize this, so to get articles from outside writers that have the same level of quality, I'm going to have to pay a lot of cash to make it worth it for them. So I've come up with a compensation package where I'll pay up to $350 for good how-to articles.

Are you a writer, and does that interest you? That is a lot of cash! Far more than you'll get by writing for other magazines. And with over 23,000 worldwide subscribers, if you write for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter, you'll gain a lot of notoriety. Writing for the Peak-of-Flight Newsletter is a great way to show off your rocketry projects and your technical expertise, at the same time as helping out other rocketeers. Imagine how great you'll feel knowing that you made a difference to the hobby.
