The word is that new Macs are on the way. At 10am on 27 October in California, which is 4am AEDT 28 October in Australia, Apple will launch a refresh of many Mac lines, something the company has taken its time to update.

Top American technology companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple and Facebook are reaping subsidies of US$1.95 million per job by obtaining funds from states and localities to build data centres.
