Seeing stars: A comet is coming to your hometown this month!

Ever since the spectacular appearance of Comet Hale-Bopp back in the '90s, stargazers have been itching for the next dazzling comet visible to the naked eye. Well, if you’re eager to see a comet for yourself, now’s your chance. The newly-discovered Comet Neowise is making a surprise appearance this month across the northern hemisphere.

If you live in the United States, you can spot it just below the Big Dipper once the sun has finally set. The comet is set to reach its brightest point on July 22, but Neowise will be visible throughout the month until it finally drifts out of view. You don’t want to miss this one either, since it only passes by our planet once every 7,000 years. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime sight to behold.
