Apple Intelligence+ could be coming, and it won’t be free

The company seems to have found yet another way to boost its revenue

Apple Intelligence is coming to certain iPhones, iPads, and Macs this summer, and the tech giant is reportedly planning to charge users a monthly fee for premium features, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

The basic features discussed during Apple’s big AI reveal at WWDC 2024 will be free for users, while so-called "Apple Intelligence+" features will require payment, Digital Trends reported.

Apple recently announced a deal with ChatGPT maker OpenAI to bring its generative-AI capabilities to Apple devices, with further deals expected. Research firm Counterpoint said it believes 2025 will see Apple’s services revenue, which includes subscriptions, cross the $100-billion-per-year mark for the first time ...

Powerful health features may be coming soon to Samsung smartwatches

The Galaxy Watch 7 will likely be unveiled on July 10

A recent APK teardown reported by Android Authority shows that the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 could feature an AGEs (advanced glycation end products) index, continuous glucose monitoring, and family health tracking.

Measuring the production of AGEs compounds in your body could be useful, as they play an important role in the development of chronic age-related diseases such as diabetes, renal failure, and cardiovascular disease. Samsung’s new smartwatches may also get non-invasive blood glucose monitoring, though some believe such a feature is still a ways off.

Finally, the watches could include a feature that lets you monitor the health tracking data of your child or family member with a screen showing the breakdown of key stats ...

Review: The spendy Klipsch Flexus Core 200 soundbar sounds amazing

The Klipsch Flexus 200 soundbar is part of the Flexus Sound System previewed at CES 2024

The Klipsch Flexus Core 200 soundbar is part of a mix-and-match series born out of a new partnership with Japanese electronics giant Onkyo.

Lifewire recently went hands-on with the 44-inch-long, 3-inch-tall, 5-inch-deep soundbar, describing it as an “impressive piece of audio technology” with “amazing sound,” and part of “a fantastic, world-class home theater system that can compete with anything else in its class."

The only major downside appears to be the price. The Flexus Core 200 soundbar costs $499, while the subwoofer and surround speakers cost $299 and $249, respectively ...

Stephen King shares 17-word review of A Quiet Place: Day One

And yes, the legendary author really enjoyed it

Stephen King spends a fair bit of time on X (formerly Twitter) recommending movies, TV shows, and books, and his latest post is a 17-word review of the new movie A Quiet Place: Day One, Mashable reported.

The prequel to John Krasinski's blockbuster starring Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Djimon Hounsou, and a cat named Frodo, takes place in New York City during the initial invasion of the sound-hunting monsters.

In his review, King wrote: "A QUIET PLACE DAY 1: The rare ‘big Hollywood film’ that is both intimate and textured," adding: “(And the cat steals the show.)" For a more expansive opinion, check out IndieWire’s analysis, which, incidentally, also described Frodo's performance as “astonishing” ...

Nintendo says it has a plan to stop Switch 2 scalpers

The refreshed gaming handheld is expected to finally arrive next year

When the Nintendo Switch launched in 2017, constrained supplies due to component shortages gave unscrupulous scalpers a chance to charge top dollar.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa recently unveiled a plan to thwart scalpers when it comes to the Switch 2: Flood the market with its new handheld.

“As a countermeasure against resale, we believe that the most important thing is to produce a sufficient number to meet customer demand,” Furukawa said in translated comments. He explained that while the company was unable to produce sufficient quantities of Nintendo Switch handhelds in recent years due to semiconductor shortages, that issue has now been resolved, paving the way for an increase in production ...
