Image: Jacob Roach / Digital Trends | Intel responds to the drama around its recent desktop chips crashing
| The company is offering two-year extended warranties
| Intel has recently been in hot water with the PC hardware community as concerns have grown over the stability of its 13th- and 14th-generation CPUs. Users have been seeing crashes, and an update that Intel rolled out to address this issue was seen resulting in performance drops of up to 9%. The company also failed to adequately address users' concerns. Now, seeing the writing on the wall, Intel has apologized for its poor communication and has promised a two-year extended warranty for the affected chips. Full details have yet to be revealed, but hopefully this will go some way to assuaging worried and frustrated users. | |

Image: Joe Maring / Digital Trends | Rumors are swirling around Apple's 'weirdest iPhone ever'
| The iPhone 17 Slim is apparently coming next year
| Apple has generally followed a predictable path when it comes to its iPhone releases, but rumors about the iPhone 17 lineup coming in 2025 have turned up some surprises. The biggest oddity is the rumored iPhone 17 Slim, which could be the new "top-tier" model, with an even higher price tag than the Pro Max. The new model could be slightly less powerful than the Pro Max variants, but with the advantage of being even slimmer than the iPad Pro's tiny 5.3mm thickness. That would be an impressive piece of engineering, but does anyone want this? | |

| Game developers say the hardware struggles with complex games
| Apple's Vision Pro hasn't been the great seller that the company might have wished, but there was hope that the arrival of more apps on the VisionOS app store might help that. But now, developers are unhappy about working with the hardware, according to a report by Mobilegamer.biz. Game developers reportedly said that the Vision Pro has problems running "complex games" and that working with the hardware is "like going back in time 10 years," particularly because of a lack of communication and support from Apple. The developers also complained about the conditions of working on Apple Arcade and poor responsiveness from Apple. | |

The Cybertruck sputters into Fortnite
| The digital version is just as buggy as the real-world truck, alas
| Fortnite fans always love a good event, and many were looking forward to the in-game debut of the Tesla Cybertruck vehicle. Unfortunately, the arrival of the truck was plagued by bugs, not unlike the problems that have hampered the debut of the truck in the real world. Fortnite players on Reddit had issues with using particular weapons or collecting certain items after driving a Cybertruck, while others complained that it gave unfair advantages compared to other vehicles. Developer Epic Games says it has pushed out a fix to address these issues. | |
