Not long after the celebrations of Apple’s WWDC 2019 event, comes the news that iPhone has endured the toughest quarter for five years, with its market share in Europe in the first quarter of 2019 falling to 23%, according to research firm IDC.

In what appears to be an escalation of the row between the US and China, telecommunications equipment giant Huawei Technologies has written to American wireless provider Verizon asking it to pay more than US$1 billion to license more than 230 patents that the Chinese company owns.
