| CLR | Ingredients | Groundbreaking new studies | Recognizing the growing demand for beauty products that deliver instant and lasting results, CLR proudly announces the relaunch of "CutiGuard CLR". Involving 170 so-called naïve graders of various ages and nationalities, participants assessed standardized images of volunteers before and after a six-week treatment with a cosmetic formulation containing 3% "CutiGuard CL" (applied twice daily). Graders had just three seconds to decide which image showed better-looking skin. The result? An overwhelming 76% of participants preferred the skin after treatment — a clear testament to the ingredient's ability to positively shape how others perceive us. | |
| B Beauty Coalition | Market | New key objectives | The B Corp Beauty Coalition has set out three key objectives for the next five years. They focus on innovation for better practices; collaboration and shared learning; and advocacy and education. Collectively, they address global issues, pooling resources to help make the beauty sector’s activities safer, clearer and more inclusive. The first objective looks at leveraging the coalition’s collective expertise to create better practices for the production of beauty products and packaging. It looks at innovative solutions to address packaging waste and industrial carbon footprint. In terms of formulations, it supports the transition to safe ingredients, while advancing regenerative sourcing and agriculture. The second objective is to establish a member platform with collaborative tools, to share ideas and multiply impact. Events and networking opportunities will allow members to connect, build community and promote the coalition. Expanding impact further outwards, the third objective focuses on advocacy and education, to provide a collective voice to influence change in policy and consumer education. Such advocacy will serve to drive positive change on specific industry issues and promote inclusive practices. The coalition will look for external partnerships to expand research and develop resources to help citizens make responsible purchasing decisions. | |

Stefania Zanzottera, Roelmi HPC | #industrialecology "Environmental consciousness has become a responsibility in the cosmetics industry finding itself at a crossroads, grappling with the need for sustainable solutions amidst the challenges posed by traditional ingredient exploration and business balance. A beacon of hope emerges in the form of industrial ecology. The industrial ecology provides a transformative approach to tackle environmental issues while ensuring the durability of chemical processes and products exploiting the principles of green chemistry and green engineering and unifying them in order to satisfy the need of every industrial process. This approach not only mitigates the environmental impact of traditional ingredient sourcing but also encourages the adoption of a circular economy by minimizing waste and maximizing resources. This perspective begins from the inventive stage, extending down to the disposal or potential reuse of the product. To ensure that these sustainability initiatives do not compromise product performance, cosmetic companies are investing heavily in R&D: the cooperation with scientists, biotechnologists, and sustainability experts drives the discovery of innovative ways to harness the full potential of upcycled materials. The result is a win-win scenario, where products that not only meet or exceed performance expectations but also contribute to a healthier planet." | |
