Let's just say New Yorkers went south, and they took their favorite restaurants with them. Even before COVID struck, South Florida has been a go-to for the city's flock of snow birds and weekend jet-setters, and so it became a natural destination for cosmopolitan eateries to expand their footprint. A few New York mainstays have had Florida outposts for years. But since the pandemic lockdowns, more New Yorkers seemed to have escaped to Miami and Palm Beach due to the, shall we say, more lax precautions. Lucky for them, their favorite familiar hot spots have followed suit.
