Hi, Rachelle here…
It hit me that summer right around the corner. Maybe you’re having the same realization and wondering how you’ll fill the days ahead?!
I’m excited to launch into all kinds of water play, time with friends, and a little travel. And of course there will be loads of downtime in between.
For those moments, my ace in the hole is having well-stocked maker shelves, a few magical project ideas up my sleeve, and an open invitation to create.
To get us into the summer spirit, I pulled a couple of my family's summer favorites from TinkerLab's membership program into a mini-challenge for you.
In this challenge you'll find two activities that are low prep for you, and curiosity-boosting for kids…
|
Activity 1: Construction Paper Sun Prints: Construction (sugar) paper, Cardstock, Scissors, Hole punch, Painter's tape, Pencil (optional), Plexiglass (optional)
Activity 2: Fluffy Soap Bubbles: 2 Tbsp of dish soap, shampoo, or bubble bath, 1/3 cup warm water, Food coloring or liquid watercolor - a few drops for each batch
Your Challenge: Try one (or both) today or tomorrow, snap a photo, and email me back with an update on how it went.
Click here to join the FREE mini-challenge hub, which includes videos and step-by-step instructions (don’t worry, these are super easy activities to set up). The challenge hub will be open through June 1.
With these playful, curiosity-driven projects and others like them, kids feel safe bringing their questions, capabilities, and ideas to the table.
They also tend to linger because they're invested in the process of creating, and engagement is high.
Because there are no fancy skills involved, even parents have been known to join in the fun!
The best part?
You'll experience how easy it can be to create engaging art experiences like this over and over again, and you'll be well on your way to establishing a creative art habit.
Warmly,
Rachelle
