This season we are going to really promote everyone playing the appropriate tees and making the game more enjoyable. It is much more fun to go out and hit some mid or short irons into greens, and have some birdie putts, as opposed to always hitting 3 woods into greens. The new Handicap System will help ease competition from different tee boxes.
A good example of the length of course you should be playing can be found in the Longleaf System. That can be found at https://longleafteesystem.com/#our-purpose. In the attached chart you will see that if you carry your driver 175 yards, you should be playing a course between 4,800-5,100 yards. If you carry it 225 yards, you should be playing a course between 6,000-6,300 yards. You will see a sample of the chart they use attached. Too often players choose to play the golf course way too long which cuts down on their enjoyment and lengthens the pace of play. Remember, in addition to the four sets of tees we have, there are also combo tees. Have fun, play the appropriate set of tees, and use the Handicap System to make the game equitable! We’d also like to remind you that there is no need to carve out four hours to enjoy some golf here at your Club. Having an extra nine will allow you many times to come out and play very quickly throughout the day and especially in the evening. When the Creek is the off nine, and you only have time for a few holes, go play 1, 7, 8 & 9. If the Vale is the off nine try playing the Loop which is 1,2,3,7,8 & 9 or the Mini-Loop which is 1,2,8 & 9. It is very important though when playing these abbreviated courses to not jump in front of players that are playing a continuous nine holes. If you don’t feel like playing, come out and use our tremendous Practice Facility. We will be announcing some fun programming that we have planned this season! This Practice Facility has it all: 24,000 SF practice green, short game wedge area, practice range with many targets and a chipping, pitching and bunker area on the West Tee. If you really want to improve your game, this is where it happens. Thank you for your continued support of the Club and I look forward to seeing you soon,
