Good afternoon,

On Mondays we bring you a round-up of the news from around Lancashire that you might have missed from over the weekend.

Detectives investigating an incident which left a teenage boy seriously injured have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of assault.

It comes after a 15-year-old boy was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a serious head injury after being found unconscious in a street in Euxton, near Chorley, on Friday.

Next up, a popular canal-side pub - The Top Lock in Chorley - was reopening this weekend after being closed since last year.

In business news, thousands of jobs at BAE Systems have been safeguarded by a new £500m order by the Spanish Government.

And Preston North End’s players have returned to the club today for the first day of pre-season training - we look forward to seeing them back in action together.

Thanks for reading,
