Celebrate Claude Howell, born March 17, 1915, in the Carolina Apartments on Market St., Wilmington, NC. Considered a master of color, he spent a life-time depicting images of Lower Cape Fear beach life, fishermen, and local characters in drawings, paintings and prints. Claude's personality was as colorful as his silkscreens.

This engaging program gives participants an introduction to some of the instruments and stories from the historical Silk Road region and beyond. Silkroad Ensemble artists share musical traditions, stories, and performance to explore the common cultural roots that connect us to our neighbors and beyond. This program is suitable for all ages and families.

CAM aims to recognize and give voice to our local filmmaking community and illuminate the 35-plus years of film heritage we have enjoyed in North Carolina. Each film will be presented by one of our own resident filmmakers and followed up with a Q&A session. Our series kicks off with The Thomas Crown Affair (1999, 113 min. rated R). Wilmington's own Tom Priestley, ASC, Director of Photography for the film, will be present to offer opening comments and will answer your questions at the end of the screening. Priestley is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Directors Guild of America, and the American Society of Cinematographers.

CAM Café is serving dinner. Reservations are always suggested.

Sought after by jazz, gospel and R&B musicians alike, saxophonist Brian Miller is new to the Jazz@the CAM series. An original member of the John Brown Quintet and both the John Brown Big Band and Little Big Band, Miller has performed with vocalists Eve Cornelious, Kim Burrell, Nnenna Freelon, Phil Perry and most recently Dee Dee Bridgewater; shared the stage with Terrence Blanchard, Branford Marsalis, T.S. Monk Jr., Dr. Lonnie Smith, Vincent Gardner and saxophonist Frank Foster; performed at the Montreux and Vienne Jazz Festivals; for President Bill Clinton at the White House twice and recorded his original composition "Desmond Street" with the world-renowned North Carolina Central University Jazz Ensemble.
